Google Calendar offers users the facility of managing time and contacts through its use and also enables users to coordinate his Gmail account in accordance with a web based calendar. However, it should be mentioned here that possessing a Gmail account is not mandatory for the use of this software. Introduced in 2006 by Google, it offers a plethora of functions in aiding individuals. Apart from providing the normal calendar view with its weeks and months and days, it also provides reminder alert facilities to be added on the calendar. The calendars also record the list of national holidays of various countries. Also since the events are saved while online, these contents are never lost even in case of major hard disk crashes. This facility of Google Calendar allows also manifold calendars to be viewed and shared with the consent of their respective viewers.
Google Calendar facility is supported by several Google software and services like Google Desktop, Google Mail, iGoogle etc. It also offers users the freedom to view significant events occurring around them and having them added to their own calendar lists as a reminder. Google Calendar allows multiple calendars to be created for various different purposes and are available for viewing by multiple users. It is possible for the users to customize calendar pages as well. Various mobile devices like Blackberry support the use of Google Calendar within its mobile services. However, this feature is not yet available in prepaid mobile services. The ways of using Google calendar is not difficult as most of the operating systems like Mozilla Firefox 1.0+, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6+ etc. support its usage.
However, time and again, it has been pointes out by many users that this Google Calendar service is not well preserved and conserved as its other manifold services.
