Keyhole, Inc, founded in 2001, was a pioneering software development company specializing in geospatial data visualization applications and was acquired by Google in 2004.

Its major product lines are Google Earth and Earth stream which is a product for car navigation. The truth is the war in Iraq between Iraq and America can make the Keyhole Google Earth boost its size because it’s totally useful for the military in the war to search for the location.

Keyhole’s marquee application suite, Earth Viewer, emerged as the highly successful Google Earth application in 2005; Google Earth was to the peak of itself with this successful. According the popularity of Google Earth, other aspects of core technology can be survived in Google Maps, Google Mobile and the Keyhole Markup Language. They all connected and help each others which they are all boosted according to the successful of Google Earth.

The base customer for Keyhole Google Earth are from many different sectors including real estate, media, urban planning, state and federal governments, defense, homeland security, and intel.

In the meanwhile, there are only five customers shown in its acquisition which were US Army CECOM, the United States Department of Defense, the National Imagery and Mapping Agency and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s office.

But since the acquisition all those customers are the customers of Google as well.
