Knol is another new invention from Google brain trust. In Swedish knol is something like a potato and there is also another word but I can not say that here.

Google wants you to write about special objects that you know a lot about and they already started to invite people to this new project.

Google will share revenue with you trough Adsense when you write and they will eventually allow everybody to write something.

A knol on a particular topic is meant to be the first thing someone who searches for this topic for the first time will want to read. The goal is for knols to cover all topics, from scientific concepts, to medical information, from geographical and historical, to entertainment, from product information, to how-to-fix-it instructions. Google will not serve as an editor in any way, and will not bless any content. All editorial responsibilities and control will rest with the authors. We hope that knols will include the opinions and points of view of the authors who will put their reputation on the line. Anyone will be free to write. For many topics, there will likely be competing knols on the same subject.

I hope it will not be as messy as Google forum because that’s just full with spam and no moderators to correct it.

Google and AOL buddies in chat

Google and AOL have become buddies when they allow Gmail chat users to chat with AOL chatters. Google and AOL has worked together on this for some time now and Gmail users will keep the same functions as they had and just added that they can not chat with AOL users.

It was sometimes now someone launched a new chat platform like SKYPE and I think that market is easier to digg into if you have a great product. To launch Google now on he search market is pretty impossible.
