The most easy way for a complete beginner like me to start using Adsense and Word Press is to download the plug in made by acmetech.com and is based on a plug in called Adsense by Phil Hord

By creating short cuts for every code you like to put on your Word Press blog you can with a mouse click insert any AdSense or Yahoo advertisement you wish.

There is also an option to preview the ads before launching the website and no programming and very little knowledge is needed to use this plug in.
